30 day fitness challenges…here I come!!
I am really embarrassed to admit that I ended up taking four months off from working out after going H.A.M. in the gym for four months straight and no more than 1-2 days off per week. The GREAT news is I’m flawless and “I WOKE UP LIKE THIS” anyway! Okay no…just kidding…well no not really because I have great genes (LOL). But the great news is really that I am getting back on my health and fitness game! 🙂 More
I can’t even front on my mom’s body or her exercise tips. She looks great at the age of 55! Not only does she look great at her age, her body is better than most 20 something year old chicks that I know. All I know is I need to stay consistent on my exercise, health and fitness game so I can look like her when I am her age.
My mom didn’t just get into heath and fitness; she has been into for as long as I can remember.
Please be sure to FOLLOW her board on Pinterest. She does everything she posts to her board and it shows! She is just getting started sharing her tips online, but trust me she is no beginner because her body is the TRUTH so you might want to take her advice in 2014, like I will be! Fitness is a Lifestyle
Wow! It’s been over 2 months that I’ve been working out and going HAM in the gym. I have to admit – being health conscious and fit really takes up a lot of my time, and sometimes I don’t think the results are coming fast enough, but I am definitely making progress! Just two weeks ago I couldn’t even do one push up, but now I can do 6 in a row with perfect form. Go me! Go me!!

Here is a picture my cousin took of me today when I was about to start my workout on the elliptical at the gym today. I can’t believe my thighs look toned! Working out pays off!

Today I had an awesome cardio and lower body workout! I felt so guilty for taking a day off and pigging out yesterday. My day off was because Monday’s 3 mile run/power walk had me in pain PLUS the previous day I did a high intensity cardio and full body circuit workout. BUT I think I made up for a little today. 🙂
-40 minute Elliptical Intensity Trainer workout from my Workout Trainer app
2 rounds of the following with weights and no rests in between…
-Ab Machine: 15 reps
-Seated Leg Extensions: 15 reps
-Dumbbell Side Bend (r): 20 reps
-Dumbbell Side Bend (l): 20 reps
-Dead lifts: 20 reps
-Russian Twists: 20 reps
-Lunges: 20 reps
-Standing Dumbbell Calf Raises: 20 reps
Finished it with…
-Basic Squats: 55
-Wall Squat/Sit: 45 seconds
I would have done a 3rd round, but I was at my small community gym and tricks killed my vibe taking long ass rests on machines. Killed my rotation! 🙁

My favorite fitness app to use when I workout is the Jefit app. I happened to find it in the iPhone app store, and it is also available for Android in case you want to download it too.
Try this workout for the back of thighs (hamstrings). This is a problem area of mine. It’s a challenging workout, but the results you get are well worth it!
