My 30 Day Squat Challenge Results

A few months ago, I decided to change my life. Even though many people thought I worked out, I was as about fit as fit as a newborn baby. I hadn’t worked out since for at least two years! I know – pretty sad huh?

There is no exaggeration when I say that I was out of shape. I was the slimmest fat girl ever. I had a 24 inch waist, but my body fat was 27%! In my defense, most of that was in my booty that I love since that’s the only thing I’m working with. But still, I was a lard ass and needed to get toned up and fit either way. So I decided to exercise!

When I started, I kept my routines to a short 10 minutes. I was only 129 lb. at 5’8″ at the time so I didn’t want to lose weight. Besides, I wasn’t motivated to do any more than that. I also worried about my natural hair getting poofy since I keep it straightened. I used my workout apps,¬† then soon after I learned about the 30 Day Squat Challenge that my sister-in-law told me about. It was all over Facebook and Google so I thought I’d give it a run!

So I started the squat challenge. At times, I even did the squat challenge with two 5 lb. dumbbells. To be honest with you, I only got through only 16 days of it. My butt was starting to look amazing though! It was so awesome looking that my teenage daughter thought I had butt injections to enhance one of my best natural assets. The nerve of her! The downside is that I have a pear shaped body. This means I gain the most weight on my lower body. I began to gain too much muscle on the lower half of my body with resulted in 10 additional lbs! I know that sounds high, but muscle weighs a lot more than fat. And trust me, my thighs were mostly made of up fat!

I rate this squat challenge a 7 out of 10 for me. I probably should have not made this my only exercise due to my pear-shaped body; however, my butt had a very nice lift! I do recommend this squat challenge to everyone. So if you have the body for it, squat away! Not to mention, it burns more calories than most exercises.
