I do squats after almost EVERY Workout. You should too!
Here is a picture my cousin took of me today when I was about to start my workout on the elliptical at the gym today. I can’t believe my thighs look toned! Working out pays off!
I was trying to kick my nephew and daughter out of my room after a long and exhausting day at Dave and Busters. My nephew Zion decided to make a wish on the “genie” (really one of my daughter’s trophies) that I was GONE so that he wouldn’t have to get out my room. He is too cute, smart and funny! LOL
My newest favorite gadget is my Polar FT60 heart rate monitor watch. I just got in for only $133 and have been using it every time I workout.

Today I had an awesome cardio and lower body workout! I felt so guilty for taking a day off and pigging out yesterday. My day off was because Monday’s 3 mile run/power walk had me in pain PLUS the previous day I did a high intensity cardio and full body circuit workout. BUT I think I made up for a little today. 🙂
-40 minute Elliptical Intensity Trainer workout from my Workout Trainer app
2 rounds of the following with weights and no rests in between…
-Ab Machine: 15 reps
-Seated Leg Extensions: 15 reps
-Dumbbell Side Bend (r): 20 reps
-Dumbbell Side Bend (l): 20 reps
-Dead lifts: 20 reps
-Russian Twists: 20 reps
-Lunges: 20 reps
-Standing Dumbbell Calf Raises: 20 reps
Finished it with…
-Basic Squats: 55
-Wall Squat/Sit: 45 seconds
I would have done a 3rd round, but I was at my small community gym and tricks killed my vibe taking long ass rests on machines. Killed my rotation! 🙁

Having a job is not for me! I didn’t know that certain people and places could affect my passion so adversely. This is how I know my true calling is to work for myself. Being an entrepreneur is what I strive for; and the only thing that I will be completely satisfied with when it comes to work.
I’ve been growing out my natural for almost two years now…actually my exact two year anniversary for starting my chemical-free hair challenge is August 5th :-). The bad news is, I’ve never done a style to showcase my natural hair, which is resulting in some heat damage. 🙁 So I made the decision to stop putting so much heat on my hair every week by not blow drying or flat ironing my hair until it’s bone straight, and come up with a hairstyle that looked decent on me.

My favorite fitness app to use when I workout is the Jefit app. I happened to find it in the iPhone app store, and it is also available for Android in case you want to download it too.
Try this workout for the back of thighs (hamstrings). This is a problem area of mine. It’s a challenging workout, but the results you get are well worth it!
If you are anything like me, you don’t have much time to cook. However, if you are trying to get fit and eat somewhat healthy, it’s best that you prepare your meals yourself. One of my favorite quick and easy healthy breakfast options is to make scrambled eggs with spinach and cayenne pepper. This is perfect for those days you have to go to work after an early morning workout.
1/2 cup of fresh baby spinach
1/2 cup of Egg Beaters Original
1/2 tsp of Cayenne Pepper
